Testing Week

Testing Week

When it comes to testing I get very nervous.
It was hard to focus when I was doing the test.
When the test was over I was really relieved.

These tests will help me later on in my life.
This is a great opportunity for when I go to college.
I will learn to enjoy testing more often.

My Favourite Subject

My favourite subject is P.E. because it helps you learn and it keeps your fitness level up. P.E. helps you learn new things like catching and hitting a ball. It also helps you if you have health issues later in life. If your wondering what P.E. means, it means Physical Education where people can jog, run or walk down their street.

Friction

Sliding Down
Question:
Which object will slide down first.
Hypothesis:
We thought that the ice cube will fall down first.
You will need:
* Wide,smooth wooden board
* Table
* Variety of small objects that have at least one flat surface,such as an ice cube,eraser,match box,plastic and wooden blocks
* Hand lens(optional)
Steps
* Place the wooden board on a table.
* Arrange the objects along one edge of the board.
* slowly raise the edge of the board.
* Which object starts to slide down the board first?
Conclusion:
The block fall first rather then the ice cube.
Observation:
The wooden block slid down first because it had a smoother surface like the wooden board.
Result:
The wooden block slid down first followed by the matchbox then the plastic block then the ice cube then the rubber.
Conclusion:
The wooden block slid down first because it had a smooth surface and there was less friction.

Careers Expo 2011

On the 10th of June Tamaki Intermediate students and teachers went to the ASB Showgrounds for the 2011 Careers Expo. We travelled by bus in bad weather.

When we went inside we had to sit beside the entrance and wait for the teachers to tell us to go. After that I went with Saitia, Mowbray, Apelu, and Samuel. The first career we went to was the Police and they told us that we have to be fit to be a cop.

Next we all split up, I went with Apelu to the Flight Attendant display who mentioned to us that the minimum age was 18. Next she told us that we have to have a written CV, she said that their salary range was $1,000+ each year.

Apelu and I heard an announcement over the speaker that all Tamaki Intermediate students should report to the main entrance, so we did and when we got there most of our class were there. After a little while the teachers instructed us to follow them to the bus to return to school.

The best part of the Careers Expo was collecting information to see what experience I needed for these jobs.
